Training Done Right!

School Security Training (SB1626) - CA

As of July 1, 2021, every person involved in school security, even those that work less than 20-hours per week, will be required to take an SB1626 course in order to be eligible to work and be compliant in the State of California.

This 24-hour School Security course was built from the ground up to satisfy all the curriculum requirements of California law SB1626 in order to make your mandatory training straightforward, affordable and quality.  This online training course is self-paced and developed to provide you with the knowledge you need.

With the passage of SB 1626 in 1998, state law requires security guards in K-12 school districts or California community college districts to complete a course of training developed by BSIS. While the original law that took effect on July 1, 2000, only applied to guards working on school property for more than 20 hours per week, that has changed. As of July 1, 2021, all those involved in school security are required to take an SB1626 course, regardless of the number of hours they work.  The training requirement affects only guards employed pursuant to a contract between a K-12 school district or California community college district and a private patrol operator.

All school personnel responsible for school safety and security, including principals, vice principals, counselors, and other such staff members will benefit from taking this course.

The completion of this online course helps to ensure that all school safety personnel are in compliance with state law, are prepared for what they may encounter, and will be able to handle any situations that may occur in the course of their duties.
