- Can you remain calm in a tense situation? Security guards often need to react quickly when an emergency occurs or a security threat arises. Whether you need to deal with a suspect who poses a threat to people or property you are guarding or respond to an emergency and offer first aid and assistance, you need to be able to think on your feet.
- Are you detail oriented? Security guards need to focus on the little details which can be indicators of a security risk. You must be able to stay completely focused on guarding the people or property you have been hired to protect.
- Are you a good communicator? Security guards may be able to effectively resolve tense situations if they had strong communication skills.
