ZipEdTech, LLC d/b/a My Security Training, (“My Security Training”, “We”, “Us”, or “Our”), recognizes the importance of consumer privacy. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) is available for You to better understand Our privacy practices with respect to the information provided or collected on or through any of the My Security Training services on www.MySecurityTraining.com, including any subdomains or related sites (“Website” or “Websites”). By accessing and using the Website, you (“You”, ”Your” or “User”) agree that You have read, understand and accept the terms of this Privacy Policy. If You do not agree, please do not use the Website. By using the Website and submitting any Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) to Us, You are consenting to allow Us to collect, use, and disclose such PII in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use, and as permitted by law. This Privacy Policy applies solely to Your use of these Websites, and describes the following:

  • What information is collected from You through the Website, how it is used, and with whom it may be shared.
  • The security procedures in place to protect Your information.
  • What choices are available to You regarding the use of Your information.
  • How You can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

I. Children’s Privacy

If You are a child under the age of 13, You are not permitted to use the Websites and should not send any information about Yourself to Us through the Websites. My Security Training does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If We are notified or become aware that a child’s personally identifiable information has been transmitted to Us, We will immediately destroy such information in accordance with the Children Online Privacy Protection Act and other applicable laws and regulations.


II. Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

When a User accesses the Websites, We automatically receive and collect certain information, including but not limited to the User’s navigation path (e.g. the URL You visited last and the URL You go to next) the type of browser You are using, and Your IP address (collectively “Web Usage Information”). Most websites automatically collect this type of information. In addition, primarily through the use of cookies, We may collect other Web Usage Information, such as the web pages the browser visits on Our Websites, the amount of time spent on such web pages and whether the browser re-visits Our pages. You are always free to decline Our cookies (if Your browser permits You to do so). Web Usage Information may be stored or accessed using a variety of technologies, including cookies, web beacons, embedded scripts, entity tags, and other similar technologies whether now known or later devised. From time to time We may use additional typical methods of collecting data. Please note that certain of these technologies may be set, changed, altered, or modified by settings and configurations on Your device.

Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

Information that identifies You as a particular individual is referred to as personally identifiable information. When You contact Us through the Website or other means (e.g. by filling in and submitting an information request form), submitting an e-mail through Our “Contact Us” feature, creating or updating a User Account, submitting a credit card processing form, participating in an online course, and/or sending Us an e-mail directly, You are providing Us with PII that may include, but is not limited to, Your name, e-mail, telephone number, and location information.

When You register a User Account and/or purchasing a course from My Security Training, We may collect a variety of information, including but not limited to Your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, contact preferences, and credit card information. When You participate in an online course We may collect information from You that is generated by Your activities within the course, such as assignments, quizzes, and tests. We may also collect data about Your usage of the Website during the course, such as how long You stayed on one screen, where You clicked on a screen, or mouse movement. We may also collect PII to assist us in tracking attendance, progress, and completion of courses.

Use of the Information

We may use the information that We collect about You for any purposes not prohibited by applicable laws and regulations, including as follows:

Participation in Online Courses. We use the PII and non-PII that We collect from Your participation in online courses in several ways, including but not limited to:

  1. By providing such information to Our instructors, managers, and directors to assist in determining Your satisfactory completion of the course,
  2. To help improve or modify the course and Our online platform and services,
  3. To archive the information for record keeping purposes, and
  4. For processing of certificates of completion.

Support and Improve the Websites. My Security Training uses any information it collects to:

  1. facilitate and enable the functioning of Our Websites and to expand and improve Our visitors’ online experience,
  2. aggregate such information with other visitors’ information to assess trends and better design, monitor, and otherwise improve Our Websites,
  3. to focus our marketing efforts. In some cases My Security Training may combine Web Usage Information related to Your access to Our Web sites with personally identifiable information.

We use the combined information to provide Our students and web visitors with a better online experience by providing customized features and services. Once combined, the resulting data is protected as PII as described in this Privacy Policy.

Respond to Inquiries. My Security Training will use Your information to respond to You, regarding the reason You contacted Us. Users who click ‘submit’ when using Our ‘Contact me for more information’ form explicitly authorize My Security Training to contact them for the exclusive purpose of providing promotional information about Our services using the PII provided. We can respond to Your general inquires via manual dialed calls or email. By submitting Your PII You are allowing Us to retain and process such information as necessary to perform the services offered to and requested by You, including but not limited to processing payment for courses or contacting You to discuss courses We offer.

We will only contact You with an auto-dial system or with a pre-recorded telephone message if You authorized Us to via an electronic signature or manual signature. If You want to stop receiving promotional materials from Us, You may unsubscribe by following the unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of any e-mail communication from My Security Training, by email at legal@MySecurityTraining.com. Third-Party Service Providers. My Security Training may use third party service providers to assist Us in providing and managing the My Security Training services. We may make Your information available to Our agents and service providers so that they can provide requested services to You on Our behalf. These third parties assist Us in a variety of ways, including but not limited to: (i) developing and supporting product and features; (ii) supporting our marketing efforts; (iii) processing payments; (iv) developing and supporting the Website; (v) processing data and statistics; and (vi) hosting media content. Third parties will not track Your outside online activities over time and across different websites after using the Website.

My Security Training is the sole owner of the information collected on this Website. We only have access to and collect personally identifiable information that You voluntarily give Us via e-mail, fill-in form, or other direct contact from You. We do not knowingly allow other parties to collect PII about Your online activities over time and/or across third-party websites when You use Our Websites and services.

Retention of Information

My Security Training retains adequate documentation (electronic or paper) for a minimum of five (5) years to comply with our provider approval requirements. The following is a list of documents retained as evidence of participants’ successful completion of courses: Records of Participation (Attendance Sign-In Sheets and Log-In information); Dates and Location of Courses; Instructor Names and credentials; Number of continuing education credits earned by participants; and results of evaluations.


III. Security

My Security Training is serious about Your privacy and We take precautions to protect Your information. We use reasonable security measures to protect Your information, both online and offline.

Wherever We collect personally identifiable or sensitive information (such as credit card data) from You, that information is transmitted to Us in a secure way and/or encrypted, through the use of SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Certificates. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of Your web browser or in the URL address bar, or looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page. However, take note that despite the protective measures taken by My Security Training, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.

In addition to using encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, We also protect Your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job function (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to PII. Lastly, the computers/servers in which We store PII are kept in a secure environment.


IV. Your Access to and Control Over Your Information

We do not respond to web browser ‘do-not-track’ signals or other mechanisms that may provide You the ability to exercise choice regarding the collection of information on the Website. However, You may opt out of any future contacts from Us at any time by contacting Us at legal@MySecurityTraining.com.

My Security Training does not typically share Our Users information with non-affiliated third parties, but We may do so at Our sole discretion. If You do not wish for My Security Training to share Your information with third parties for such third parties direct marketing purposes, as defined in the California Civil Code Section 1798.80 et al, please contact Us at legal@MySecurityTraining.com, My Security Training Legal Department, 11859 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 100, Los Angeles, 90025, to be placed on our do not release information list. This however does not preclude Us from providing Your information to Our affiliates, if We are required by law to do so, or in the transfer to an assignee or successor entity in connection with the sale, merger, or reorganization of My Security Training. V. Changes to the Privacy Policy

My Security Training reserves the right to change or update this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. If there is a major change to this Privacy Policy, We will strive to provide notice to all Users via the Website, however, We cannot guarantee flawless technical delivery of such notice. It is Your responsibility to periodically check this Website and review this Privacy Policy.

Complaint Resolution Policy

My Security Training is committed to providing quality service for its participants. One of the ways in which We can continue to improve Our service is by listening and responding to the views of Our members and customers, and in particular by responding to complaints in a prompt and polite manner.

Complaints must be in writing, signed and submitted to My Security Training Complaints, 11859 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 100, Los Angeles, CA 90025, or legal@MySecurityTraining.com. Complaint must allege a violation that occurred no more than one (1) year prior to the date the complaint is received by My Security Training. Each complaint must include the following:

  • A statement describing the violation, including the date, in question,
  • A list of facts to support the alleged violation claim, and
  • A signature and contact information for complainant, including phone number and email.

My Security Training will review all complaints within a reasonable time they are received and respond within fifteen (15) business days by phone or mail. Each complaint will be resolved within sixty (60) business days. If further time or action is required the complainant will be notified.

Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, California Website users are entitled to the following specific consumer rights notice: The Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs may be contacted in writing at 1625 N.
